American Craftsman Custom Stained Glass Doors - Information The American Craftsman Series of custom stained doors, sidelights, and transoms are our newest series of entrance doors, and they feature an old, traditional style of "bungalow" door with real stained glass. These doors feature a heavy decorative "shelf" on the exterior side of the door. The side view of the stile and rail connection of our Craftsman doors shows the multiple grooved dowels method of assembly. The cross section view of the stile and panel of the American Craftsman mahogany door series show the construction detail of the door. The stile features our exclusive "engineered laminate" design to reduce any chance of warping or bowing of the door. And the flat floating panels feature laminated mahogany to eliminate any chance of the panels splitting. Made from the finest grade of which mahogany wood available, most of these doors feature extra wide stiles (the long and tall wood members on the sides of the doors). The stiles are "book matched" which means that the grain on the right door stile matches the grain on the left door stile, and they are produced using our exclusive Engineered Construction for superior warp resistance. To maintain the "turn of the 20th Century" design theme, these doors to not have raised molding, and they feature flat panels. Multiple grooved dowel reinforcement of stile and rail joints further strengthens the door. The glass panels for the Craftsman doors all feature triple-thickness IG glass panel inserts. These IG panels sandwich the decorative beveled or stained glass panel between two sheets of safety tempered glass, which adds safety, security, insulation, and makes the glass panel very easy to clean. Each Craftsman door has a matching sidelightavailable in 10", 12", or 14" widths. Craftsman doors are each available in 3 foot wide by 6 foot 8 inch tall size.
